Poem about a Rose

micro flowers 004How complicated your petals are to draw, yet your silk, soft shape entices the paint brush to apply another coat, where the light gleams on the curves, the top and the centre.

Your core attracts the discerning eye and makes it wonder how it is formed. Once, twice, no three times the paint hues are changed in trying to make the shape true.

Remembering that your blossom is loved for its fragrance and colour, I commend you to be a favourite among flowers, which is given to a loved one with no thought to the prickly thorn.
